Caring for your leather:
Bracers and Belts:
All of our bracers and belts are made with Vegetable Tanned (VegTan) leather, dyed with Fiebing’s Pro-Dyes, and sealed with Fiebing’s Golden Mink Oil and NatureCraft Bee’s Grease. These help to seal your leather and give it some resistance to water.
If you get caught in the rain, don’t worry! Just make sure that your leather is fully dried before storing it to prevent mildew and mold. (Refrain from swimming in it though…)
Annually, apply a light coat of a leather balm to help retain its water resistant properties.
If you notice that your leather is beginning to dry out (excessive wrinkling at bends that might lead to cracking at the surface), or begin to crack, apply a leather balm liberally to the affected area, and then evenly across the rest of the bracer. Buff with a soft cloth (preferably one you’re not attached to) until balm is fully massaged in. This will help to soften the leather in that area, giving it more flexibility. Do not machine wash oily buffing cloths (unless you hate your washer and/or roommates).
The best way to care for your items is to wear them and love them! The natural oils from your skin will help keep them looking great, and over time they will form to your shape until they feel like a second skin!
Belt Pouches
All of our belt pouches are made with Vegetable Tanned (VegTan) leather on the face and flap panel, and Sueded or Upholstery Leather for the gusset. All of our VegTan leather is dyed with Fiebing’s Pro-Dyes, and sealed with Fiebing’s Golden Mink Oil and NatureCraft Bee’s Grease.
